This poster is quite insistent that Suranne Jones’ character Idris who appears in the Neil Gaiman penned Fourth Episode is The Doctor’s wife.
The same poster goes on to say that the episode’s title is:
The Doctor’s Wife
The episode title has now been confirmed by SFX Magazine.
Of course, given that The Doctor’s wife has never appeared in the series and Gaiman teased that the character of Idris “may be an old friend with a new face” it doesn’t all quite make sense. The episodes producer, Marcus Wilson also teased that the episode featured “a new take on a familiar character” and we’re pretty convinced that The Doctor’s wife isn’t meant literally.
After all, throughout the series The Doctor has had one constant companion who he refers to affectionately as “Dear” and the poster who revealed the title adds that the episode was at one point known as Bigger on the Inside. So we’re fairly convinced that Idris is a manifestation of the TARDIS, which added to the episode featuring Amy and Rory trapped in the TARDIS could mean we’re in for some pretty wierd stuff.
Thanks to TJimmy for the heads-up and Nellym for sharing.
